Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE): Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Established in 1953, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) formerly known as Manipal University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). MAHE is a private Deemed to be University located in Manipal, India. The university was ranked 7th in university, 17th in overall, 15th in architecture and 30th in research categories as per NIRF Ranking 2022. Manipal Academy of Higher Education is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). MAHE offers a total of 86 full time courses and 8 online courses for admissions. The university has different processes for admission for different courses which should be followed. The university also has a placement cell that manages the recruitment process.

MAHE offers a total of 86 full time courses to aspiring students. MAHE courses are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. MAHE courses are available in various streams like engineering, medicine, arts, media, computer applications and many more. B.Arch, B.Com, B.Des, B.Optom B.Sc, BA, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Com,  M.Sc and MPH are some of the MAHE courses. The duration of undergraduate courses at MAHE ranges from 3 to 4 years and postgraduate courses are two years. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before applying for admission at MAHE.

MAHE Manipal Admissions

The university offers admission to various UG and PG courses such as B.Arch, B.Sc, BBA, BA, M.Optom, M.Sc, MA and others. MAHE UG admission is offered based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and personal interview followed by online counselling. B.Arch aspirants are required to sit and obtain valid scores in NATA. Students aspiring for MAHE B.Des admissions have to appear for the Home-Based Test (HBT) and submit a Portfolio of Work (POW) followed by a personal interview and counselling.

MAHE Manipal Scholarships

Manipal Academy of Higher Education Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students. There are various scholarships available for students of various streams. For UG courses, the students who have scored 80% marks in the 10+2 examination will be eligible for Scholar Scholarship and the students who have scored 65% marks will be eligible for Achiever Scholarship. For PG courses, students who have scored 70% in UG in 1st year will be eligible for Scholar Scholarship while the students who have secured 65% marks will be awarded Achiever Scholarship. 20% fee waiver will be awarded to the students who will achieve these scholarships.

MAHE Manipal Placements

The university has a dedicated placement cell that looks after and manages the process of recruitment at MAHE Manipal. The cell makes sure that the students are fully groomed and prepared before they appear before the interviewer for the final round. A number of companies are invited by the placement cell to conduct the recruitment drive. Reputed recruiters like Deloitte, Amazon, Flipkart, Cognizant, HSBC First Bank, HDFC Bank and many more visit every year during its placement drives. MAHE Manipal Facilities

The university has separate hostels for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are well-furnished and provide a comfortable environment for the students. MAHE library has a wide range of books, national and international journals, magazines and others The sports facilities include cricket, badminton, basketball, swimming pool and indoor table tennis are also available to students. A branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) is present on university premises. Manipal Academy of Higher Education facilities also includes an auditorium, seminar halls, lecture halls, classrooms equipped with modern technology, video conference rooms and others.

MAHE Manipal Location

The university is located at Tiger Circle Road, Madhav Nagar, Manipal, Karnataka. Mangalore International Airport is the nearest airport located 63.2 km away from the university and takes approximately an hour and a half by road. The closest railway station to MAHE is Udupi Railway Station which is 3.7 km away. Alternatively, students can also come by Mangalore Railway Station which is 65 km away from Manipal as it is well connected by air, rail and road. The university has a bus stop in its name which is Manipal Bus Stop.
